Tell us a little bit about yourself

I have lived in the area 30 years and have been involved in numerous local and city wide campaigns and charity organisations my purpose for being a councillor is to ensure my area is looked after and to improve the lives of all of us who live in the Woodhouse, Handsworth and Woodhouse Mill areas, I am a member of the Sheffield Sea and Marine cadet management team, an active supporter of the Royal British Legion and was for many years a trustee of CISWO helping with the largest lunch club

What do you think makes a good local councillor?

Hard work , listening to constituents and not being afraid when some asks are impossible to meet but explaining the reasons for the decisions, making sure the community are informed of any issues from the council

Tell us three things you're aiming to focus on or achieve for your ward during your term as councillor

Stop building on the green belt, Improve air quality, sort out road speeding and illegal quads and motorbikes, continue to increase CCTV for the area

Tell us three things you're aiming to focus on or achieve for the city of Sheffield during your term as councillor

Increase the social house building programme through partnerships with other organisations and developers , increase wild flower planting, strengthen the armed forces covenant

Transport: “Air pollution contributes to 500 deaths a year in Sheffield. Living alongside a busy road carries the same risk as passively smoking 10 cigarettes a day.”. Supported by better public transport and disabled accessibility, do you think private motor traffic should eventually be excluded from Sheffield city centre?

Housing: "The introduction of Selective Licensing can bring widespread benefits to the local community. In particular it will ensure that all private rented property within the designated area is safe and well managed". Do you think Landlord Licensing in Sheffield should be extended, from currently applying to Abbeydale Road, Chesterfield Road and London Road, to covering more wards?
