Elected in 2022 Local Elections Mike Drabble candidate for Sheffield Local Election Richmond

Mike Drabble

I’m very proud to have served as your local councillor for the last four years.

I grew up close by, and it’s great to be able to represent a ward I have such fond memories of: I spent far too much time running around Jaunty and Richmond parks as a boy!

During the last four years, my Labour colleagues and I have fought hard for you in Richmond ward. This has included bringing investment into the ward in a number of ways; a high-grade artificial cricket pitch on Intake Primary school fields, tens of thousands of pounds of investment in Richmond Park, funds to support local community groups across the ward.

We have also worked hard to ensure people in Richmond ward have been supported during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the start of the pandemic community groups and council together organised the delivery of a postcard that contained useful contact details across the ward. This resulted in over 400 calls to Sheffield City Council from residents who were then able to get help with shopping or prescription collection. In addition, your Labour council distributed over 800 school meal vouchers to Richmond schoolchildren who had been ignored by the government.

All this would have been much harder without our excellent community groups, who have battled on and helped with mental health advice, support, food banks and well being packs. Grateful thanks to our NHS for managing the role out of the vaccine programme that is our hope for returning to something like a normal life.
