Penny Baker

First elected as City Councillor in 2006, Penny has served as a City Councillor for 13 years, and has recently been elected as a Bradfield Parish Councillor. Her roles in the City Council have included Scrutiny Board Chair, Councillors Group Chair and Penny served on the Cabinet during the last Lib Dem administration with the portfolio for Housing, Regeneration and Planning.

In 2001-2 Penny served as Lady Mayoress. She was Chair of the Sheffield Lib Dem Local Party from 2015 to 2018, and is currently the Deputy Leader of the Lib Dem Group on Sheffield City Council.

Born in Sheffield, Penny spent over 10 years of her early adult life travelling in the UK and Germany as an Army wife. Now married to previous Councillor David, her interests include local history and investigating Family Genealogy together with her husband. As a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoys spending time with her family.
