I was born in and still live in Woodhouse. I attended what was then City School (now Outwood Academy), so spent a lot of my youth in the Richmond Ward and still have many friends and family members in the area. I have many happy memories of playing local league cricket in Richmond Park and football across the area.
I have spent over 30 years working in the NHS, currently working part time as a Security Manager helping to protect NHS assets and, more importantly, NHS Staff from the violence and abuse they face on a daily basis. I am married to a nurse, Linda.
I have over 14 years previous experience serving as a Local Councillor. I have also been a school governor for 15 years and look forward to working with the excellent schools in the area to help address the many challenges they face.
I am so sorry this vacancy has arisen due to the sad death of Peter Rippon. Peter was a great local Councillor and a good friend to me. He will be a tough act to follow, but I would relish the opportunity to continue his work with you to achieve the very best for Richmond.
